Browsers, Plug-ins & Resolution Help.

Resolution.

If you have a small screen or your screen resolution is at a low setting, you can easily adjust you settings to see a lot more on the screen at any one time. Follow these steps.

(Prior to changing your screens resolution you should check your screen, computer and video card manuals to check what settings are actually supported).

1. Go to the "Start" icon in the bottom left hand corner of your screen.

2. Choose "Settings", then "Control Panel".

3. Once in "Control Panel" find the "Display" icon. Click this and look for the option to change your screen display resolution or size to 1024*768 dpi (See diagrams)

For Macintosh computers using Mac OS.

1. Click on the small Apple icon in the top left hand corner of your screen.

2. Follow your nose until you find "Control Panel" then the icon for "Monitors & Sound".

3. Once in "Monitors & Sound" you can change your resolution to 1024*768 dpi

Browsers.
To make the most of the WWW you should always update to the latest Browser. Here are links to the worlds most popular ones, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. Plug-Ins.
Plug-ins are small programs that sit in the windows and/or browser directory and allow your browser or PC to read files. In order to make the most of the web you should visit these sites and download these free plug ins
Shockwave.
This plays Flash & Shockwave files, giving you access to the most animated pages on the www today!		 shockwave flash
Quicktime is the most versatile plug-in for viewing Internet video & pictures. A must!
Adobe Acrobat Reader is essential for reading PDF files. Many documents are published this way, including manuals & instructions etc.
Getright is a download manager that is a must for anyone that regularly downloads stuff from the net. This program picks up where you left off if your disconnected part way through a download. Getright can be scheduled to start downloading at night when there is less traffic and nobody else wants to use the phone.
